Precautions

Here are some things to keep in mind when using henna:

* There is only one color of henna!

Henna is a plant, not a chemical or ink, and the plant has only one color.  Applying henna makes the hair red.  Different shades of henna are available in different brands.  All other colors except red are made by mixing another plant or artificial color in henna.  Try to always buy natural and 100% pure henna.  If you want to change the color of henna, you can use amla, coffee or beetroot juice.

* Black henna

Black henna is also easily available in the market.  It is not actually made from henna but from indigo plant. It does not dry like henna, so it is not necessary to dissolve it and keep it like henna for some time but it is better to apply it immediately.  When taking black henna, make sure to see what ingredients are included in it.  If too much chemical is used, do not buy it at all.  Always use a good brand of henna.

* Chemical dye on henna hair

Most people do not apply henna because they will have to have their hair cut down or bleached while dyeing at the parlor, which will make the hair lifeless and weak.  If you use 100% pure henna, you can easily apply streaking, chemical dye or treatment on it.  However, there should be an interval of 1 to 2 weeks between the use and dyeing of henna.

* The amount of henna according to the hair

Some people open the whole packet of henna and apply it on the hair and use a very small amount of henna out of fear.  The amount of henna is determined by the length of the hair. Generally, 100 grams of henna is enough for hair up to shoulder length, while 300-350 grams of henna is enough for waist length.

* Use of lemon juice in henna

Lemon has acidic properties and makes the hair shiny but dries the scalp.  If you still want to use lemon juice in henna, mix it with yogurt or eggs.  This will provide the necessary moisture to the hair.  Dissolve henna in lukewarm water.  It can also be dissolved in coffee or coffee water.  It is better to use a little yogurt with them.

* Avoid plastic containers

Use a stainless steel pot to dissolve henna.  This makes the color come out easily and is fully utilized.  Henna stains on plastic utensils.

Yes, using henna straightens curly hair.  Women who want to keep their hair straight should use pure henna regularly instead of spending it on electronic straightening or parlor.  People who want to keep their hair curly should use amla powder in henna.  In addition, the color of henna is also darkened by amla.
